El Salvador, the country that created the bitcoin medium of exchange, has purchased twenty one additional bitcoins to celebrate “the last twenty first day of the year twenty one of the twenty first century,” President Nayib Bukele proclaimed. The country has brought about one,391 bitcoins altogether.
El Salvador Buys additional Bitcoins
El Salvador’s President Nayib Bukele proclaimed Tuesday that his country has bought additional bitcoin.
His announcement began with a tweet that reads: “El Salvador’s entire size is 21,000 km2. Coincidence? I don’t think so!” He followed up with a series of tweets that put together read:
Today is the last twenty first days of the twenty one of the twenty first century. At 21:00 hours … We tend to area unit shopping for 21 bitcoin for the occasion. I’m holding the acquisition until 21:21:21.
El Salvador has been stacking bitcoins since the country created the bitcoin medium of exchange aboard the U.S. dollar in Sept. Together with the newest purchase, it bought 1,391 bitcoins altogether.
Before the bitcoin law went into effect, El Salvador bought four hundred BTC. The country then purchased three hundred additional BTC. President Bukele proclaimed at the time that El Salvador currently had 700 bitcoins.
In October, the country bought 420 additional BTC. In November, the country bought a hundred additional bitcoins. The newest giant purchase was in early December for one hundred fifty BTC, conveyed the entire purchases to 1,370 BTC. With the 21 BTC bought on Tues, the entire purchase quantity to 1,391 BTC.
Meanwhile, the International money (IMF) has of El Salvador against mistreatment of bitcoin as a medium of exchange. The warning came someday when President Bukele proclaimed his plan to build a “Bitcoin City” powered by a volcano and supported by bitcoin bonds.
